day 2 week 2

 Hello. Today McKenzie and I met Joe at his house for our first walk of the day. We had a pretty standard walk until Joe saw the neighbor and really wanted to say hi. Next we walked Radley and Stanley. They are both great dogs and walk well together. At the end of our walk somehow the dogs became tangled and Radley was able to get into a mud puddle. We then brought the dogs to the pond for a swim. Although we were not thrilled about the mud, Radley seemed proud of himself for seeking in the puddle. Next we went over to Maxwell to get Orwell but he was already out for a walk with another dog so we decided to let him play and will see him tomorrow. Finally we walked Novasota and Merrill. They were very keen on sniffing everything. After the dog walks, McKenzie and I spent some time putting video clips together and researching about training techniques for our final presentation. Today we worked for 5 hours.

       Hello. This week has been filled with some ups and downs. To start, it is very hard to make everyone you work with happy. No matter how hard you try to make things work for everyone, someone will not be satisfied with your work. It's frustrating but realizing this has made me feel better. McKenzie and I had to create a schedule where 17 dogs needed to be walked at specific times, have their own rules and abilities, can and can not walk with others, and have to be picked up and dropped off all at their own locations back to back for around five hours a day. It is amazing to be able to walk dogs for our project but sometimes is overwhelming. We have been walking about seven miles a day on average. I have learned thus far that even the most simple tasks can become difficult without the right preparation. However, hanging out with dogs all day has been great. A few standouts: Joe, Stanley, and Radley have been amazing on the leash, and Orwell, Mac, and Comet like to play in one

day 4

 Hello. Today started off with Joe the golden. He wasn't super keen on walking today. It took some convincing but we were able to do a full lap around campus before returning home. Next Mac the basset hound wanted to play with the other dogs at assembly, so we hung around and let the dogs play. Radley was super excited to walk around, saying hi to everyone that walked by. Today we had one less dog because I had a job interview. Although we spent a little less time walking today, we spent time researching some training techniques and methods. We are also hoping to met with a dog trainer over Webex next week to learn more about the most effective ways to train a dog. Today we worked for 4.5 hours.

day 2

 Today McKenzie and I started our day of dog walking with Joe the golden retriever. He was initially very energetic and excited but as advisory began, Joe wanted attention and food. After many pets, Joe reluctantly went back inside his home. Orwell, the 10 weak old puppy was our next walk. We didn't walk very far with him but many people played with him and gave him some attention in the hallway of Maxwell Savage. Stanley and Radley came with McKenzie and I for our last walk before lunch. After lunch, Mac the basset hound walked with us until she got tired. Finally, Novasota and Merrill were our last walk of the day. We walked and hung out with theses dogs for a total of 5 hours today.
